Software Engineer - San Francisco, CA - SOMA

At Outspark, you will be an integral part of building the next-generation social gaming platform. We are implementing an innovative business model that showcases fun and involving gameplay merged with Web 2.0 features such as community messaging, cross-game avatars, Web services integration, social networking and more. Your primary role will be to expand our front-end and back-end web technologies, which include payment systems, caching tiers, database/application partitioning, and asynchronous DHTML/Javascript. You will also be involved in designing, developing, and optimizing core application services.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Outspark platform services
  • Work closely with game developer partners
  • Extend and create innovative front-end and back-end solutions

Qualifications -- Must Have:

  • Proven experience in developing complex, high-traffic web applications
  • 5+ years web application or software development with LAMP stack
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field

Marketing Manager/Specialist

Outspark is currently looking for a Marketing Manager/Specialist. Are you ready to be an integral part of the gaming community? Do you love thrill creating programs and making them come to life? The Marketing Manager will report to the VP of Marketing work directly with the product management, business intelligence, production and development team to drive the planning and execution of marketing initiatives to achieve team objectives.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience managing marketing programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills to conduct regular analysis of ROI on programs
  • Ability to identify creative solutions for complex issues

Game Web Producer - San Francisco, CA - SOMA

Outspark is a fun, dynamic, casual game publisher, based in the SOMA area of San Francisco. We are looking for a talented Game Web Producer to help our gamers enjoy their online experience.

The Web Producer's primary responsibility is to visualize game web site UI, process flows and use cases, then create requirements and UI wire-frames for execution.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Planning, producing and executing game web site projects.
  • Develop UI flows and mock-ups for web and windows client applications in preparation for graphic design.
  • Manage graphic designers and web developers to quality and schedule deliverables.
  • Plan and run daily operation of game web site.

Requirements:

  • Proven talent for website UI design and project planning.
  • Experience developing user interface flows, wire frames, and UI mock-ups for websites.
  • Understanding of web content, presentation and the requirements for daily change, management and operation.

UI Designer - San Francisco, CA - SOMA

Outspark is a fun, dynamic, online game publisher, based in the SOMA area of San Francisco. We are looking for a talented UI Designer to help drive the design process for our web products and features. This includes Outspark.com and each of our game websites. As a UI Designer, you will work closely with engineers, other designers, and product managers throughout all stages of the web product lifecycle. Outspark is a startup environment where everyone works collaboratively and rolls up their sleeves to help get the job done.

The UI Designer's primary responsibility is to visualize web site UI, process flows and use cases, then communicate and champion a consistent standardized user experience across all of Outspark.com. The UI designer may be called to create designs, storyboards, wireframes, user flow diagrams, or prototypes to help communicate his/her ideas to the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure UI standards and patterns are followed consistently sitewide.
  • Developing high level mockups, wireframes or prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
  • Gauge and review the usability of new and existing products, and making constructive suggestions for change.

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm about online games.
  • Previous work in a portal, gaming or social networking company preferred Solid understanding of web portal design standards, ad sizes and their preferred placements.
